hippie nouveau

i have always had a fasciantion with the whole art nouveau and arts and crafts movement of the late 19th and early 20th centuries, a fascination with the style that was re-discovered and adopted in the whole peace and love movement of the 60's (see biba). certainly one of the most well known (and one of my favorite) artists from that period was aubrey beardsley - swirling, dramatic, romantic, dark... perfect inspiration for this gloomy january weather.
